Best Drinking Games Ever

Picture this: you’re at home with some friends and you’re looking for something to do.

Now imagine this: you’re on holiday, sitting in a bar and willing to meet new people.

Two different situations, only one answer: drinking games!

Either you want to have some fun with your loved ones or break the ice with some potential new friends, there are many drinking games you must play at least once in your life. Here you can find some of the most famous ones.

If you’re out and you’re running out of cards, try these simple games which require nothing but fun people and drinks.

Never Have I Ever

This is one of the most common drinking games ever. The rules are very easy to learn and it can go on for as long as you like. However, I think it gets boring quickly, especially if you play with friends you know well. My advice is to play with a big group of random people you just met in a bar.

First, get into a circle.

The first player must state something they have never done starting the sentence with ‘Never have I ever…’. Whoever has done at least once in their life what was said, must drink. And so on.

Most Likely To

Again, this game is really simple to understand and it doesn’t require anything special.

You can decide either to prepare some questions in advance by writing them down on pieces of paper. Each question must ask who, among the players, is most likely to do something. At each round, draw one of the questions and vote who’s the ‘most likely to’. Whoever gets more votes, must drink.

You can also decide to ask the questions directly in case you don’t have paper and pen. In case you want to get drunk quicker, you can equal each vote received to a sip, so that more players drink at each round.

Drinking games which require a deck of cards might be slightly more difficult to grasp at first, but don’t worry! Once you get the rules, you will surely have fun!

King’s Cup

King’s Cup is by far my favourite drinking game. It never gets boring and it lasts long enough to get drunk and ready for your night out. There are multiple versions of the game, but I will share the best one, in my opinion.

First, get into a circle and place an empty glass at the centre of the table (yep, drink it up and order another beer!). Shuffle the cards and put them on the table, creating a circle around the glass. One by one, you have to pick a card from the ring and do an action according to the value of the card.

A – Waterfall: The player must start the waterfall. As soon as they start drinking, the second player must do the same and so on. Once the first player decides to stop, the second one can stop and so on.

2 – Fuck You!: Assign a sip.

3 – Fuck Me!: Take a sip.

4 – Whores: Women drink.

5 – Thumb Master: The player remains the Thumb Master until someone else picks a 5. This player can decide to place a thumb on the table whenever they want. Whoever notices, must do the same. The last player who places the thumb on the table must drink.

6 – Dicks: Men drink.

7 – Heaven: The player maintains this ability until someone else picks a 7. Whenever they want, they can raise their hands to the sky. The last player who does the same must drink.

8 – Mate: The player must choose a person to be their mate. Until the end of the game, whenever the first player drinks, their mate must do the same.

9 – Rhyme: The player says a word. One by one the other players must say a word which rhymes with the first one. Whoever repeats a word or can’t find any, must drink.

10 – Category: The player states a category (i.e. Characters from Harry Potter). One by one the other players must name a part of the category (i.e. Harry, Ron, Hermione…). Whoever repeats a word or can’t find any, must drink.

J – Rule: The player must create a rule which applies until the end of the game (one of my favourite is ‘You can’t say ‘drink’). Whoever breaks the rule must drink.

Q – Question Master: The player remains the Question Master until someone else picks a Q. This player must ask questions to the others. Whoever answers the questions must drink. If the other players answer ‘Fuck you, Question Master!’, the QM must drink.

K – King’s Cup: All the players must pour a bit of their drink in the empty glass. The last player who picks a K must chug the King’s Cup.

Bullshit Bus!

This game is a variant of ‘Ride the Bus’ and it really depends on luck. So, prepare yourself as you might end up drunk quite easily. For the first part of the game, I suggest to take turns as it is best played one-to-one.

First Part

Start by shuffling the cards.

One person must be the dealer, and the other one the player. To win the game, the player must complete four steps without making any mistake.

Step 1: Red or Black?

The dealer now asks the first question. Once the player has answered, the dealer puts down a card. If the player has guessed, they go on to the next round. Otherwise, they must drink and start all over again.

Step 2: Higher or Lower?

The player now has to guess either the next card will be higher or lower than the first one.

Step 3: In or Out?

At this point, the player has to guess either the next card will be a number between the first two cards.

Step 4: Which Suit?

This is the last and trickiest step. The player simply has to guess the suit of the next card.

Once the player has won or the cards have finished, they must collect the last 4 cards they guessed (or tried to). Repeat this four-step part for each player.

Second Part

Now that every player has 4 cards, they must remember their value and turn them face down.

Create a pyramid on the table. Each layer will be worth a specific amount of sips.

Starting from the bottom layer, turn the first card face up (i.e. 2 of Hearts). Whoever claims to have a matching card (i.e. 2 of Spades) must assign the sips to one player. The latter can either accept or call ‘Bullshit!’. In that case, the first player must reveal their card (2 of Spades).

If they were bluffing or if they reveal the wrong card, they must drink double the number of assigned sips.

If they were right and they reveal the right card, the second player must drink double the number of assigned sips.

Every time a card is revealed, it must be changed with a new card. This one must be remembered exactly like the other cards.
